The summer at the Achensee

Lake Achensee itself is the main attraction for many tourists. Sailors and surfers appreciate the excellent wind conditions, divers value the underwater visibility of up to ten metres, fisherman gush over the abundance of fish. Nature lovers marvel at the waters which appear to shimmer in hues of Caribbean turquoise and aquamarine due to the surrounding light-coloured limestone.

The region which includes the villages of Achenkirch, Maurach, Pertisau, Steinberg and Wiesing with a total population of 7699 inhabitants is characterized by a diverse landscape with a carefully integrated tourism infrastructure. Guests can engage in nearly 50 different sports: from golf and horseback riding to inline skating and paragliding.
